Template Tips & Techniques Guide

There are several steps involved in reaching your ultimate goal - a live chapter website.

  • First you may request that a template site be setup by following the steps in “Requesting a Template."
  • Next the VIS Administrator will setup a subdomain and a shell site for you. This site will contain the template graphics, some basic content, and a temporary home page. Your webmaster may then login to the site and enter the remaining content specific to your chapter.
  • Once you are finished with your content entry, you must submit your site for review and approval to CSSDAR Website Management. See “Submitting Your Site for Approval.”
  • The CSSDAR Website Manager will review your site and let you know of any issues which must be addressed.
  • Once all the issues have been addressed the CSSDAR Website Manager will forward her approval to the CSSDAR Webmaster, who will also review the site.
  • If she approves, she will forward her approval to the State Regent, who will, in turn submit the approval request to NSDAR VIS.
  • During the NSDAR review, the reviewer may identify additional issues which need your attention. Once you have completed any necessary changes, NSDAR VIS will notify you and CSSDAR VIS of their approval.
  • Once the site is approved, the CSSDAR VIS Administrator will remove the temporary home page, enter the search engine metadata for the home page, place the NSDAR and CSSDAR approval graphics, and notify you that the site is live.
  • NSDAR will set the link to your new site.
